Columbia Grain helps make Christmas gifts possible

COLFAX-Columbia Grain International donated $3,000 to area charities as part of its Cultivating Growth Christmas Charity Donation campaign.

The bulk grains, pulses and edible beans company donated to 30 charities in 46 cities it operates in.

Whitman and Adams county each received $1,500.

The Colfax Fireman's Toy Box, LaCrosse Community Pride and Community Action Center in Pullman each received $500.

The Lind Senior Center, Ritzville Food Bank and Washtucna Food Bank also received $500 a piece.

Columbia Grain International donated to charities in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Minnesota and North Dakota during December.

"Our businesses are generally located in small, rural communities in which helping our neighbors is a top priority. Members of Columbia Grain International's Charity Committee were eager to identify and administer philanthropic work with their local non-profit organizations," Columbia Grain International Committee Chairman and Lane Hannas said.

"We are working with senior centers, schools, food banks, and supply drives all over our company's network.

"It feels great to give to our neighbors, and we hope our work cultivates growth in our communities."
