PULLMAN — One person was arrested for driving with a suspended license and drug possession and another cited for knowing he was doing the illegal actions just before 7 p.m. Dec. 30 on U.S. Highway 195 near Armstrong Road.
Robert Suttles, 46, of Deer Park, will be arraigned Jan. 8 for driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine. He is being held without bail in the Whitman County Jail.
Suttles was jailed after Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputy Tyler Langerveld pulled over the vehicle he was driving for failure to signal lane change, Whitman County Superior Court records show.
When asked for his driver’s license, Suttles told Langerveld he did not have one. Passenger Charlotte Nolan said she was owner of the vehicle and gave the deputy her license, registration and insurance, records show.
When questioned, Nolan allegedly admitted to knowing Suttles was not supposed to drive, records show. A bag of methamphetamine was located on Nolan; she stated it was Suttles.
No more drugs were discovered during a search of the vehicle.
Nelson was arrested by citation — for allowing an unauthorized person to drive and obstruction for trying to conceal the methamphetamine — and then released.
