WIAA Athlete of the Week program to accepts nominations

RENTON — The WIAA Athlete of the Week has returned.

Beginning this week the WIAA will honor outstanding student-athletes for sporting performances as well as contributions to their communities.

People wishing to nominate someone may do so at the WIAA website. The deadline each week is Tuesday at 8 a.m.

All athletes in good academic standing are eligible. Students may win the award once during an academic year.

Each winner receives a letter of recognition from WIAA Executive Director Mick Hoffman, a $25 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods and a commemorative certificate. It’s sponsored by Gesa C...
