Whitman County football teams upended

ROSALIA — A brief hail and snow storm may have halted football action in the first quarter of play here Thursday, but it didn’t stop the defending state 1B champion Odessa Tigers from running away with a big win.

The Tigers juggernaut team cruised to an easy 74-0 win over the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves in eight-man football action Thursday, Feb. 25.

Odessa led 38-0 when the game was paused in first quarter for the story. After the game resumed, the Tigers ran the score up to 48-0 before the quarter ended and 60-0 by halftime.

Junior varsity players added another 14 points to the total in the second half.

The Othello Huskies ran up a 20-7 lead in the first quarter of their game Friday and never looked back. The Huskies won the 2A matchup, 34-14, in Martin Stadium in Pullman.

Wilbur-Creston 50

St. John-Endicott 16

The Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters of Thursday’s game against the St. John-Endicott/LaCross Eagles.

The Wildcats won the 1B football game, 50-16, in St. John.
