Oakesdale ends season unbeaten

OAKESDALE - The Nighthawks wrapped up the 2020-21 season undefeated by sweeping Colton at home March 13.

The 11-0 girls lost only one set of 33 played this season. The set loss was to Colton.

"It was a good season," Assistant Coach Ken Lindgren said. "Glad we got to play. We were getting stronger as the season went on."

At home March 13 against Colton, the Nighthawks won 25-10, 25-13, 25-19.

Jessie Reed had 12 kills and LouEllen Reed had 36 assists.

Gianna Anderson contributed 17 digs.

For Colton, Rylee Vining got 13 assists and Josie Schultheis eight digs.

In further Southeast 1B volleyball, Garfield/Palouse (3-7) played at Pomeroy on March 12, winning 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19.

Kenzie Pederson hit 17 kills, 11 digs and eight aces. Denni Fealy delivered 34 assists.

Earlier, Colton defeated Asotin in four, 27-25, 25-16, 25-15.

Josie Schultheis got 15 kills and 10 digs while Rylee Vining put up 21 assists.

Colton then beat Tekoa-Rosalia in three, 25-10, 25-17, 25-12.

Schultheis had seven aces and seven digs while Maggie Meyer got 12 kills. Vining contributed 21 assists.
