SPOKANE — Six organizations in Whitman County will receive grants from the Innovia foundation in its efforts to help with COVID and wildfire relief.
Community Action Center will get $20,000 for housing security for people displaced by wildfires.
Council on Aging and Human Services and Coast Transportation will receive $13,000 to support senior nutrition programs.
Pine Creek Community Restoration Long-Term Recovery Organization was marked for $20,000 for general operating support.
Pullman Community Gardens at Koppel Farm will accept $10,000 for an accessible garden for mobility-impaired gardeners.
The Washington Idaho Symphony Association will receive $4,000 for general operating support
And, $4,000 will go to Regional Theatre of the Palouse for general operating support.
“We know that organizations were hit hard in 2020 by the pandemic and the wildfires in our region,” said Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “By providing more flexible dollars and a streamlined grant reporting process, we wanted to make sure that funding would go to those organizations supporting our most vulnerable.”
