April 19, six members of the Colfax High School ASB Leadership, along with Heidi Lowe, came out to the home of Tom and Doreen Riedner. They had lunch and then assembled 1,000 soup bags for Homestead Ministries. These students made Colfax High School and their community proud.

Harm and Jan Smith, Art Sager, Blake, and Carmen Heaton, Larry Brink, and classmates Vicki Broeckel and Linda Hennigar were among the many friends and family who attended graveside services April 24 in LaCrosse for Richard Barry who passed away Feb. 7 from complications due to the COVID virus.

Kristin Repp, Vicki Broeckel and Sharon Schlomer went to Palouse Falls last week and reported the water level was down from the previous spring. They were one of the first ones to arrive in the morning, but by afternoon there were approximately 30 cars that had pulled in. Things were green and the rockchucks were busy.

A group of local women met at The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast last Thursday. Beautiful weather allowed them to enjoy a potluck lunch on the front porch. Attending were Sandy Passmore, Terri Guenthner, Linda Hennigar, Diane Monson and Vicki Broeckel. The afternoon was spent viewing and learning about the antiques in the house. Others are invited to join them for the May luncheon.

This past weekend, Reuben Stueckle and his son Dan, Puyallup, arrived at the home of Reuben’s brother, David Stueckle, on Friday and stayed until Sunday. David’s son Doug, Coeur d’ Alene, also arrived on Friday and returned to his home Saturday. Saturday afternoon, the mini-reunion moved to Schmuck Park in Colfax where they were joined by David’s other brother Arnold and his wife Diane from Spokane for a couple of hours. It has been a long time since the three brothers have been together. They all had a really good time.
