ROSALIA – Pat Voge's garden was chosen as the Garden of the Month for May by the Rosalia Garden Club.
"The selection committee was attracted to the many different flowers in bloom," said Rosalia Garden Club Publicity Chairman MarvaLee Peterschick. "An added bonus in the garden was a special eagle statue, who appeared to be protecting the flower blooms."
Voge visited the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, where she was drawn to purple tulip in blooms so she purchased some for her garden.
"There are many different Narcissus, in different shapes and form that (Voge) collected from friends and neighbors through the years," said Peterschick.
She has continuous spring blooms through May, and a lilac Syringa "Spokane" will be blooming on the north side of her house along with the blue flowers of Miscanthus, Dicentra (pink bleeding heart), Alliums( Lily of the Valley), Iris, peonies, day lilies and daisies.
"Hosta and ferns along with ornamental grasses give foliage textures and shapes to the flowers through the gardening season," she said.
Voge gives much credit to her landscape service of Pablo Alonso and family. She thanks the garden club for the honor of choosing her Garden of the Month.
