New principal picked for Jennings Elementary

COLFAX — The Colfax School District hired a new principal for Jennings Elementary.

Jacob Tucker starts July 1.

He comes from Forest Grove, Ore., where he was dean of students for Harvey Clark Elementary School since 2019.

A former fifth-grade teacher, Tucker has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy from Portland State University.

He interviewed in town on May 11, along with two other candidates. The day’s itinerary included a tour of Colfax, a writing prompt, and more. It went from 12:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and concluded with an in-person and virtual public forum.
