Pandemic art and COVID craft exhibit opens

UNIONTOWN – A collection of work from artists Richard Domey and Judith Marvin open for display at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn.

It begins with a reception from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on June 6. The exhibit continues through July 3, according to organizer Julie Hartwig.

Richard Domey, of Pullman, displays trunks and mosaic tables.

"Domey's boxes are the culmination of decades of interests, experiences, and developing skills," stated Hartwig. "His wood, fabric, metal, and tile ornamented boxes began with the request of a grandfather whose grandson wanted a pirate chest."

The artist developed his style continuing with more decorative boxes and storage chests.

Judith Marvin paints in acrylic and lives along near Myrtle Beach, Calif.

"(She) used her studio this past season as her safe haven to try and find her style. Although she has been an artist for many years, this past year she has begun to play with abstraction and color and texture," stated Hartwig.

Marvin draws inspiration from the inland northwest scenery. Her landscapes are more imaginary locations rather than direct observation.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit art organization located at 419 N Parkway in Uniontown. It's open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call 509-229-3414 or email [email protected].
