Colfax boys beat Liberty, go to 5-2

COLFAX - The Colfax High School boys basketball team got wins over previously unbeaten Liberty and Davenport last week, taking the young Bulldogs record to 5-2.

John Lustig delivered 38 points and 10 rebounds in the 70-64 win over Liberty on May 28. Damian Demler added 19 points.

Colfax finished out the game with key free throws.

"Last week was a really good week for us," said Bulldogs Coach Reece Jenkin. "Especially Liberty at home, that was a huge win for us. We're a lot better team than we were a couple of weeks ago."

The Lancers beat Colfax all three times in 2019-2020, each a close game.

Colfax won at Davenport 64-53 on May 27.

Lustig led with 22 points, with 10 rebounds, against the previously unbeaten Gorillas. Demler scored 16 points and Seth Lustig added 15 points.

Colfax cruised past Upper Columbia Academy, 86-57.

Lustig had 35 points and 11 rebounds. Demler scored 14 points with eight assists. Seth Lustig got 13 points.

Colfax plays again tonight at Asotin followed by a June 8 home game against Lind-Ritzville-Sprague and an added game at Clarkston on June 10.
