Serving Whitman County since 1877

Robin Lyne Jones

Robin Lyne Jones, Whitman County Assessor, passed away of natural causes early Saturday morning, June 5, 2021, in Colfax. She was 48.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday, June 11, beginning at Noon in the front shop of Jones Truck & Implement in Colfax.

Robin was born August 18, 1972, in Pullman, Wash., to Bobby and Faith Derry Gross. She grew up in Colfax and attended school here where she was also a member of the cheerleading squad. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1991 and went on to attend cosmetology school in Spokane. Robin worked at The Curry Comb in the Hickman Saddlery building for a time after completing her cosmetology training.

She married Eric Jones in Colfax on June 18, 1994. They had known each other since high school. Robin worked in the Assessor's office for Whitman County with Robert Repp and Joe Reynolds for many years. More than her co-workers they became like part of her family and they treated her the same. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and spending time with her kids was always very important to her. She was a "crafty" person and loved working with her dad on his cabinet jobs or making things in his shop. In addition to all kinds of crafts she had an embroidery machine that she liked to use and she designed many different types of T-shirt transfers. She was elected the Whitman County Assessor in 2017; a job she truly loved.

Robin is survived by her husband, Eric, and their children, Reggie, Christopher and Riane Jones all of Colfax; her mother, Faith Gross, Colfax; and by her siblings, Tom Martin, Endicott, Shawn (Brian) Stine, Colfax, and Michele (Doug) Swalley, Colfax. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Gross, and by her in-laws, Larry and Cindy Jones.

The family suggests memorial gifts in Robin's memory be made to the Konnor Stirling Memorial Scholarship at the Colfax High School. Online guest book is at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com

Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is caring for the family.
