COLFAX — A woman was upset at being denied the use of her parents’ car and smashed her father in the face with a wine glass.
Brianna McCabe, 26, of Pullman, was charged In Whitman County Superior Court on June 10 with assault in the third degree.
Pullman police went to a home on Michigan Street on June 8 in response to a woman claiming her daughter threatened her and cut her husband after an argument over using their car.
McCabe allegedly was acting erratic and loaded her belongings into her mother’s car and plotted a route to Seattle in the vehicle GPS. Her mother unloaded the car and hid the keys because McCabe reportedly wrecked her mother’s car in the past, according to court documents.
When McCabe couldn’t find the keys, she reportedly confronted her parents, grabbing her mom’s wrist and threatening to hurt her with a folding knife. Her parents wrestled their daughter and took the knife away, according to the police report.
McCabe allegedly grabbed a wine glass and struck her father, breaking the glass, and cutting his face.
She left the home and was arrested later by the Washington State University police. They reported she had four knives on her.
Her arraignment is on June 18.
