Endicott holds largest event, Albion cancels
COLFAX — Fourth of July events return to nearly normal for 2021.
ALBION — The traditional barbecue and parade are not taking place this year due to uncertainty about COVID-19 protocols. Gov. Jay Inslee was announcing an update on June 30.
"It's kind of hard to plan a picnic and everything in a couple days," said Albion Fire Chief Jeremy Peterson. "So we'll hold off until 2022."
Endicott — An expanded schedule is highlighted by a 7 p.m. full parade and fireworks at dark.
On Saturday, July 3, from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m. a swap meet-flea market and craft show takes place at the fire station.
From noon to 7 p.m. is a car show on Third Street It includes pickups and tractors.
At 4 p.m. a bring-your-own-food barbecue starts in the lot next to the Endicott Food Center.
On the Fourth, the community pool is open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and after the fireworks until midnight.
The car show runs again from noon to 7 p.m.
At 5 p.m., the Endicott Food Center food booth opens by the baseball field.
At 6:30 p.m., the kids line up for the parade at Endicott School.
The main parade features fire trucks, the Whitman County Sheriff's Posse and more.
An ice cream social with in view of the parade route begins at the food both at 7 p.m.
Events are organized by the Endicott Community Club.
JOHNSON — The five decades old annual parade starts at 10 a.m. after being canceled last year. Whitman County Fire District 12 are not holding their fundraiser breakfast.
PULLMAN — The Sunnyside Park fireworks show returns, after being moved to an undisclosed location in 2020.
Spectators are allowed in the park to watch this year, though no barbecue or concert is taking place. Fireworks launch from the top of the hill at the park's west edge again.
Food and drinks are permitted to be brought to the park.
