CHENEY - A Colville man was named All-Around Cowboy after taking home the most money from the three-day Cheney Rodeo.
Travis James Eller took home $2,058 after competing in tie-down roping and team roping, according to Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) standings. He and partner Brett Hale, of Tenino, tied for third place with 7.8 seconds.
Eller took fourth in tie-down roping with a time of 12.8 seconds.
While Eller was posting good times in roping, another Colville resident was busy setting a Cheney Rodeo Arena breakaway roping record.
Amanda Hodges, who hails from Brazoria, Texas, but now lives in Colville, set the new arena breakaway record at 2.2 seconds to win that event.
She broke the record set the day before at 2.3 seconds by Kaycee Hollingback of Wilburton, Okla. Hollingback's time was tied again by Jordan Minor, a cowgirl from Hermiston, Ore.
Several local competitors were among the cowboys and cowgirls competing in the rodeo.
Cooper Mills, of St. John, also found a partner for team roping. He and partner Turk Bates, of Prosser, also missed and didn't get a time.
Mills was also among the tie-down competitors. He roped his calf quickly, but it didn't stay tied up the minimum 6 seconds necessary to get a time.
Spangle's Cory Perryman entered all three days of bull riding, but couldn't get a qualified ride of at least 8 seconds.
He wasn't alone, as none of the bull riders qualified on the C5 Rodeo of Lac la Biche, Alberta, Canada rough stock.
In barrel racing, Pamela Coker, of Cheney, post a time of 18.52 seconds, which put her 18th overall among a field of 30 riders.
Further down the list, Karla Gust, of Ritzville, completed the barrels cloverleaf in 28.13 seconds to finish 29.
