Agnes Lee Veltri (McConnell) 83, passed away on July 21, 2021, in Spokane at Deaconess Hospital. She was born in St. John, Wash., on January 8, 1938, to Ralph and Roberta McConnell.
While growing up in St. John Agnes attended elementary and middle school and graduated from St. John High School in 1956.
After school she held numerous jobs, she worked waiting tables at local restaurants. Agnes then began working at her father's implement dealership McConnell Machinery as a bookkeeper. She did modeling for a while in Spokane, Wash. While living in Quincy, Ill., she worked at the State Street Store in the Cosmetics Department.
Aggy enjoyed traveling immensely. She was very proud to say that there was only two states in the U.S.A. that she never made it to. She was a long time donor to ASPCA and she loved animals, especially dogs. She always stayed active and had a gorgeous garden which included flowers, fruits and vegetables.
Aggy had a large role in raising Ben, Cody and Courtney Carroll who were her Great nephew's and Great niece. Aggy was so much more than just a Great Aunt, she always stepped up to the plate in times of need.
Aggy and Richard Veltri were together for 30 years. They moved to Hawaii in 1987. There Aggy cleaned condos and took in lots of Sun! Aggy couldn't stay away to long because she heard the rolling hills of the Palouse calling her home. They returned in 1992.
Aggy didn't have any biological children, she had three step-children Jeff, Carla and Rich Veltri, also five step-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Richard Veltri at home in Malden, Wash. One nephew David Carroll and wife Tamara of Spokane, Wash. Two great nieces, Stephanie Van Vallis and husband Duane of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Courtney Carroll of Bellevue, Wash. Three great nephews, Michael Patch and wife Tianna of Great Falls, Mont. Ben Carroll and wife Alisha of Nine Mile Falls, Wash. Cody Carroll and wife Molly of Bothell, Wash. Aggy was also a Great-great Aunt to Jackson, Mackenzie, Lauren and Scarlett Carroll.
Agnes was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Ralph and Roberta McConnell, and sister Margaret Carroll.
Service will be on Saturday August 14th, 2021, at 10:30 AM, Location Holy Rosary Church, 622 N Plaza Ave, Rosalia, WA.
In lieu of flowers make donations to the Rosalia Fire Department, Rosalia, WA.
