Palouse Habitat for Humanity honors volunteers

MOSCOW, Idaho – Roger Willemsen and Donna Bradberry were chosen for the 2020 Helping Hands Award by the Palouse Habitat for Humanity.

The award is recognition for significant contributions by a volunteer to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.

“Willemsen has been a steadfast member of the Codger Crew. The Codgers are the backbone of the volunteer teams (that) construct Palouse habitat homes. Roger’s high degree of skill and experience, his attention to detail, and (his) dedication to craftsmanship help ensure the quality of these home builds,” said Jennifer Wallace, executive director of Palouse Habitat for Humanity.

Wallace praised him and Bradbury.

“Bradberry has been an integral part of the Habitat organization for over 10 years. She served on the board of directors, volunteered as office manager, was a key member of the habitat store exploratory committee, which researched and then launched the surplus sale in 2012.

“She continues to volunteer several days a week at the store, staffing the cash register, and helping tell the habitat story to all shoppers with photo display updates from the home build and repair sites,” said Wallace.

The annual volunteer picnic was canceled and Palouse Habitat for Humanity is conducting an online event on Oct. 28-29 through their website at palousehabitat.org.
