Sheriff's posse honors fallen soldiers

POTLATCH, Idaho - The Whitman County Sheriff's Posse joined the Latah County Sheriff's Office in honoring the 13 fallen soldiers killed during the evacuation of Kabul, Afghanistan.

Posse members were joined by community members to honor the fallen soldiers, who died on Aug. 26, and active-duty soldiers, veterans, and first-responders at the Potlatch Veterans Memorial at Scenic 6 RV Park in Potlatch, Idaho.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem sang by Viola Resident Willow.

A mounted flag ceremony and formation were led by Latah County sheriff's deputy Justin Olsen in a patrol car and Latah County sheriff's deputy John Paradis and Whitman County sheriff deputy Jim Pellisier on horseback.

Jessica Pellisier, Toni Crawford, Gina Wilson, Art Sager, Wraylee Flodin, Christie O'Keeffe, Shorty Berger, Angie Senter, Tucker Senter, and Teri Garrett rode behind them, with James Garrett and Larry Garrett in the side-by-side.

Jessie Evans, Abby Martin, and Toni Crawford organized the tribute.
