On August 11, 2021, Gretchen Peringer loving mother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend died from complications related to dementia at the age of 73.
Gretchen was born August 21, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan. Gretchen's father was a pilot in the Air Force and her mother was a nurse in the Air Force consequently Gretchen had the opportunity to live in many places throughout her life.
In 1965 Gretchen graduated from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. In 1965 Gretchen graduated from Southern Missouri State with a degree in Business Management. Gretchen worked for many years in Oakesdale for Wilbur-Ellis before working for the Oakesdale School District where she was the Business Manager.
Gretchen was always someone who loved to spend time with friends and family. She loved to throw parties whether for her children, holidays or just get togethers with her Beta group. Gretchen loved to play games and was known for laugh by all those who loved her. She was always very generous with her time, gifts and love for all those who came in contact with her.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her father, Clay Herbst Jr. and her mother Jeanne Herbst. She is survived by her children Brandi Koch married to Robert Koch with children Gabriel, Sibley, Jude and Ezra; and by her son Patrick married to Nichole with children Dottie, Pax, George and Autumn. Gretchen is also survived by her loving siblings Clay Herbst III wife Pamela, Christine Swan husband Gunner and sister Cathy husband Jeff.
A memorial to celebrate the life of Gretchen will be held on September 25th, 2021, 11:00 AM at the Oakesdale Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Phillips officiating. Please come to remember the wonderful life of Gretchen with a luncheon following.
