COLBERT – A Tekoa-Rosalia girls cross country runner took third and a Colfax Bulldogs' boy ran for fourth place at a jamboree on Sept. 7.
The teams met at the Josh Wright Memorial Jamboree, also known as the "Mud Run," at Northwest Christian High School. The course was 2 miles.
Colfax's senior Dvamin Vanek was the fourth fastest cross country runner with a time of 13:58.0. He led the Bulldogs to a hypothetical third place during the practice event.
Cross country scores are the place each runner comes in and they are added together. The lower the individuals place, the better team score. The top five runners' places are counted for each team. A team must have at least five runners.
Colfax boys placed 11th Jaxon Eads (16:59.0), 14th Luke Garcia (17:30.0), 15th Alex McHargue (17:31.0), 22nd Jack Warwick (20:03.0)., and 23rd Jacob Jones (20:09.0).
Bulldog girls placed 5th Hannah Baerlocher (20:00.0), 7th Paige Cocking (22:04.0), 10th Grace Jones (25.20.0), and 12th Gabby Rabaiotti (25:40.0). They were one short of scoring as a team.
Tekoa-Rosalia cross country field two runners and were ineligible for a team score.
Tekoa-Rosalia's sophomore Brooklyn Newsman ran the course in 18:20 for a third place individual finish.
Vikings' junior Bryce Casey finished the course at 17:20,0 for 13th place.
