PALOUSE — A small controlled burn on a farm near Palouse grew to out of control on Sept. 23.
“Almost immediately, as we got on scene it was extinguished,” said Palouse Fire Department Fire Chief Scott Beeson. “It was not large.”
The farmer was burning a slash pile with wood and had called the fire department before starting, said Beeson. As soon as it got out of control, the farmer called 9-1-1.
