Grant money offered for transportation projects

PULLMAN - The Palouse Regional Transportation Planning Organization (PRTPO) is accepting applications for grants through Nov. 5.

Funding is limited to $326,500 for projects to improve transportation for pedestrians or bicycles, according to the PRTPO. Grant caps are $266,000 for urban projects and $194 for rural ones.

Projects can be for on or off-road trails, sidewalks, pedestrian signals, lighting, safety improvements project, and infrastructure projects for non-motorized transportation.

Grants are to be awarded to applicants from Whitman, Asotin, Columbia, and Garfield counties.
