Death Notice for Alex 'Butch' Gustin

Alex went to heaven on September 28, 2021, at his family home in Corvallis, Oregon. He died of complication from his heart disease.

Alex was born August 10, 1942, in Spokane, Wash., the son of Bud and Helen Gustin of Pine City, Washington. He was raised on the family farm and attended grade school at Pine City. He graduated from St John High School in 1960. Alex received a college degree in education from EWU and continued as a school teacher for 30 years in Gresham, Oregon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all his boat. For 27 years he and Dottie lived on the boat and traveled the Pacific Coast along Oregon, Washington, Canada and Alaska.

He is survived by his wife Dottie of 57 years, and two daughters, Kim (Ted) Izzler and Jennifer O’Donnell; four grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Kaylin and Max; two sisters, Sally Schrenk and Judi Overstreet.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
