Donald Kelly Price

Donald Kelly Price, Steptoe resident, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Pullman Regional Hospital. He was 85. No services are planned at this time for Don. He was born April 8, 1936, in Appalachia, Virginia, to John R. and Marie Anderson Price. His mom died when he was only two years old and Don was subsequently raised by his grandmother. They lived in Florida and California at different times and it was in San Leandro, California, where he graduated from high school. He attended college in the Bay Area before enlisting in the United States Army where he served in the Signal Corps from 1956 to 1959.

Don worked mostly in construction all of his life. His entire life was centered around work and that is where he found the most joy, keeping busy and working on a project. He married Donna Lynn Mariano in Sacramento, California, on May 20, 1990. They moved to western Washington, Seattle, in the early nineties where he delivered fresh fish to area grocery stores. They settled in Steptoe 29 years ago where he found enjoyment working, of course, and visiting with neighbors and friends whenever he could. He also liked to go camping on occasion.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, at their Steptoe home; five children, Kristine Elford, Kathy Isaeff, Jerome Price, Leora Price Abell, and Eric Price; and two step-children, Craig Smith and Kenny Smith; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Elford.
