POMEROY - Two volleyball teams battled with both Garfield-Palouse and Pomeroy both winning in a doubleheader on Oct. 26.
The Garfield-Palouse Vikings (5-5) won the first game with three of the five sets (16-25, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 17-15).
The Pomeroy Pirates (2-3) won the second game with three of the four sets (25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24).
"(They were) great close games – evenly matched," said Vikings Coach Brad Rader. "Gar-Pal played well, served well – we communicated good and never gave up."
In the first game, Garfield-Palouse's Kenzi Pedersen had 14 kills and 18 digs. Marci Brantner had 7 aces. Denni Feely contributed 25 assists and Karla Blomgren had 4 blocks.
