Serving Whitman County since 1877
GARFIELD — Children and teens are invited to celebrate books, reading, and art by participating in the Garfield Library’s 2nd annual Design a Bookmark contest.
The deadline for entries is Nov. 29, according to Sarah Anderson, Garfield branch manager.
Entry forms are available at the Garfield library
“Be creative and have fun, but please use your original artwork,” she stated.
Two winners from several age categories are being chosen for their bookmark designs.
The age groups are ages 6 and under, ages 7-10, ages 11-15, and ages 16-18.
“Designs may be created using Crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint, and watercolors,” stated Anderson. “Computer-generated designs will not be accepted.”
Finished bookmarks can be dropped off at the Garfield library during open hours or in the book drop.
Entries are being displayed at the library where community members vote on their favorite design during December.
Winners are being announced on Dec. 29 and designs printed and distributed at the Garfield library.
For more information, contact Anderson at 509-635-1490 or at [email protected].
The Garfield library is open Mondays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
