Serving Whitman County since 1877
COLFAX — A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and deputies found illegal drugs, paraphernalia, and a firearm in downtown Colfax on Nov. 22.
The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office used a search warrant and found approximately 150 fentanyl tablets, 48 grams of heroin, 53 grams of methamphetamine, $825, and a pistol, according to Sheriff Brett Myers.
The deputies reportedly saw the drugs and other paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
“That information, along with other statements made by the driver lead deputies to apply for a search warrant out of concern of possible narcotics trafficking,” said Myers.
Joseph Baker, 27, of Airway Heights, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a firearm, and driving while license suspended.
Baker has six previous felony convictions, rendering him unable to have a firearm.
