Palouse mayor gives thanks

Series: Letters to the Editor | Story 19

As I reflect on what has been a tumultuous time in our world, it occurs to me that still we have much to me thankful for. Today, I give thanks for the City of Palouse for the way we come together to support each other – providing a sense of belonging for residents and visitors alike. I give thanks for our city staff, who dedicates so much of themselves to the upkeep and betterment of our city. I give thanks for our businesses that provide jobs and create a fun and vibrant atmosphere in our community. I give thanks for our schools that provide a quality education for our youth. I give thanks for our nonprofit organizations and volunteers who selflessly serve day in and day out to enrich our lives. I give thanks for a heritage of community that has drawn us together since the first settlers came to Palouse more than 150 years ago. Today I give thanks. And while, for many, this is a day of thanks, I believe that gratitude knows no season. Let this day be not an end to your thanksgiving, but the beginning.

May you and your families have a happy Thanksgiving!

Tim Sievers,

Palouse mayor
