Serving Whitman County since 1877
Feb. 3, 1965 – Nov. 27, 2021
Charles "Chuck" Earnest Louk was born February 3, 1965, in China Lake, Calif., to Diane and Mel Louk. He went to sleep in the Lord on November 27, 2021, at the age of 56 and awaits the resurrection of the second coming of Jesus.
He attended school in Tekoa and Oakesdale in Washington and graduated in 1984. He attended Eastern Washington University before going in to the army where he served three years for our country as a Ranger. He was also a volunteer football coach for the Nighthawks for two years as he loved working with kids.
He was a hard worker starting with helping a farmer with harvests for many years. He drove a semi hauling hay and straw for his uncle and helped set up new Home Depot stores around the United States. He worked hard at whatever he did.
In 2004 he came home with the love of his life, Cassie. They were married on Dec. 14, 2018. Cassie was his support, nurse, caregiver and made his life better when his health was failing.
He was baptized and became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church on May 1, 2021. This was very important to him and helped him through all his health issues.
He met wonderful people while fishing which was something he loved doing every chance he had. He made a special bond with a great man, and with his nephews and brothers-in-law whom he loved to tease whenever he could. He always wanted to get a fishing trip going. He and his dad spent many hours fishing for bass and walleye, and the competition was always "game on."
He is survived by his wife Cassie and beloved dog Bee; his parents are Mel and Claudia Louk, and Diane and Larry Shinker; siblings are Kari Louk, Karla and Shawn Moore, Tanya and Gary Shrope, Amber and Clay Flower, and Bridget and Dan Malek. He had seven nieces and four nephews whom he loved dearly.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on Jan. 29, 2022, at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, College Place, Wash.
