Serving Whitman County since 1877
Donald J. Kammerzell passed away on November 8, 2021, from natural causes. He was born in Colfax, WA, on January 29, 1938, to Delbert F. and Miriam (Riggs) Kammerzell. He was very proud of owning the family farm that his parents had purchased two years before his birth. He loved his old cars and hunting. He took great pleasure in being a very accurate shot. Later in life he met and became a life partner of Dorothy (Dot) Bugh. They spent many happy years together, especially at the regional casinos. He was liked by all he met.
The family would like to thank Dr. B. Johnson of the Whitman Medical Clinic for his care throughout Don's life. They would also like to thank the staff at Whitman Hospital and especially the care and love he was shown by the staff at Ladow Court Care Center at the end of his life. Also thank you to the Hospice Care program for their support and care.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert. He is survived by his son Tom (Cheryl) and his daughter Sandy (Tyson). In addition there are five grandchildren Abbie (Chuck) DeMeerleer, Elizabeth (Dustin) Carter, Sam (Peach) Kammerzell, Jessica Haugen, and Matthew Haugen. There are also seven great grandchildren.
