SJEL split two on the road

WALLA WALLA — The St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles lost to the DeSales Irish and defeated the Touchet Indians.

The boys basketball team travelled to Walla Walla on Dec. 18 and lost 55-33 to DeSales.

“DeSales employs a strong defense with opportunistic offense that compliments their size and athleticism,” said SJEL Coach Michael Stubbs.

Eagle Ryan Anderson led the Eagles with 8 points.

Four days earlier, the Eagles were in Touchet and won against the Indians 69-35.

“After a slow start, the Eagles worked hard with balanced scoring and a tough defense to produce a strong second and third quarter, to take control of the game,” said Stubbs.

SJEL’s Pedro Molina scored 18 points. Tanner Fleming scored 13 points. Rory Maloney added 11 points and Mathew DeFord contributed 11 points.
