PULLMAN — The Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman is hosting a series of discussions on the book “How the Bible Actually Works.”
The discussions of author Peter Enns’ work, starts on Jan. 9. The sessions are facilitated by Travis Mallett.
Each of the series of six discussions begin at 11:45 a.m. immediately following the church service. It is not necessary to attend the service to participate in the book discussion.
The dates are Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 13, and Feb. 20.
Enns is a progressive Bible scholar and host of “The Bible for Normal People” podcast. He puts forth that there is no one right way to read the Bible and that the idea of “being right” as the ultimate measure of faith is a damaging concept, according to an organizer.
“How the Bible Actually Works” is available at BookPeople in Moscow or online at Amazon. The church is also providing books. The series is free and open to the public.
Registration is required and can be done online at http://www.pullmanucc.org.
