Betty Rudy

July 18, 1926 – Oct. 6, 2021

Heaven needed a school lunch lady and Betty Rudy answered the call on October 6, 2021.She joins her beloved husband of nearly 70 years Robert Rudy and their son Bob Rudy Jr.

If you ate school lunch in the late 60's, 70's and early 80's you would have enjoyed Betty and the Jennings Elementary cooks' cinnamon rolls, maple bars, chili and beef stew.

Born July 18, 1926 to Katie and John Morasch, Betty grew up in Endicott with her 5 siblings. She married Robert E. Rudy November 20, 1947. In Betty's spare time she enjoyed walking, working in her yard, gardening and preparing family meals. The cookie jar was always full until her husband passed away.

In their later years Betty and Bob enjoyed going to movies every Saturday. Her daughters Jan and Joy carried on the tradition of taking mom to the movies after Bob passed away in 2017. Betty would highly recommend seeing the original "Jaws" on the big screen. She saw it the 4th of July this summer to celebrate her 95th birthday.

The family would like to thank the Meals on Wheels volunteers and Kindred Home Care for helping her to stay in her home as long as possible. We also thank LaDow Assisted Living for looking after her in her final months.

A special thank-you to Kindred Hospice for making her journey's end as comfortable and pain free as possible.

At her request, no service is to be held.
