County road levy questioned

Most rural residents are still waiting to see the fruits of their taxes that they willingly passed because of what Whitman County Public Works Director Mark Storey said the money would go towards. When will one of the commissioners step up and do what is right and deliver on what was said? Still patiently waiting for the three extra road positions to be filled where there is work that needs to be done.

Two maintenance worker entry spots have been filled but why are you hiring people that don’t have a CDL or the experience? Now hiring a shop foreman? Why create another management position to oversee four people? If the supervisor can’t oversee the work of the four mechanics that you feel it’s needed, maybe it’s time to look for a new supervisor?

Creating three new positions when you haven’t kept your word on what the road levy money was supposed to be used on because you’re flush with cash is irresponsible. The smoke and mirror show really is bothersome. You say one thing but do another. Perhaps this is the year each district will get the additional $100,000 for gravel and emphasis on ditching?
