Soup and pie event benefits stray pets

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Humane Society of the Palouse is hosting its annual soup and pie fundraiser again on Feb. 28.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., assorted soups and pies from local restaurants are offered at the 1912 Center Great Room, located at 412 E. Third Street in Moscow, Idaho.

Proceeds go to the Humane Society of the Palouse, who operate the animal shelter at 2019 E. White Avenue in Moscow. The shelter is open 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

“The … luncheon brings together delicious food and caring community members who have a mutual passion for homeless pets. Those in attendance will get to enjoy a variety of soups and pies while enjoying the company of like-minded friends and neighbors to benefit a good cause,” stated a spokesperson.

The cost is $10 per person for a bowl of soup and a slice of pie. Additional servings are available for a suggested donation. Whole pies are available for purchase at the event.

The annual luncheon is made possible through in-kind donations from community partners.

All proceeds from the soup and pie luncheon directly benefit Humane Society of the Palouse. The funds raised pay for food, medical care, cleaning supplies, and other materials used to care for homeless pets.
