SPOKANE — The Colfax Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams enter district play this week.
The girls are seeded No. 1 in the Northeast 2B league.
As of press time, the girls were slated to open district at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the fieldhouse at West Valley High School, 8301 E. Buckeye St.
The local girls will face the Upper Columbia Academy Lions from Spangle.
The No. 8 seeded Lions reached the game by eliminating No. 9 Asotin on Monday, Feb. 7, by a score of 47-35.
The winner of the Colfax-Upper Columbia game will advance to the district semifinals at 5 p.m. Feb. 15 in the main gymnasium at West Valley.
The Bulldogs boys enter the district tournament as the No. 2 seed, behind top-ranked Liberty (Spangle).
The boys will play their first game of the tournament at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the West Valley main gym.
The local boys will face No. 7-ranked Reardan, which knocked off the Jenkins (Chewelah) Cougars, 58-50, on Monday night, Feb. 7.
The winner of the Colfax-Reardan game advances to the semifinals Feb. 17 in the main gym to play the winner of the Davenport-St. George’s game.
