SPOKANE VALLEY - Whitman County girls basketball teams are dominating the competition in district play.
Last night, the Colfax Bulldogs girls advanced to the Class 2B District 7 semifinals by easily out-gunning Upper Columbia Academy, 67-24, in the game at West Valley High School.
The win propels the No. 1 seeded Colfax girls into the semifinal game against No. 5 Reardan.
Reardan won its game last night, 55-48, over No. 4 St. George's.
The semifinal game will take place at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, at West Valley High School.
The Bulldogs win follows Wednesday night victories by Class 1B District 9 girls teams Colton, Oakesdale and Garfield-Palouse.
Oakesdale topped Desales, 43-34, and Colton downed Yakama Nation, 76-40.
Colton and Oakesdale face off at 6 p.m. tonight in a district girls semifinal.
Cross-bracket, Garfield-Palouse easily outpaced Liberty Christian, winning 55-18. The Viking girls next play Pomeroy in a 6 p.m. semifinal tonight.
The winners of tonight's games will square off at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, for the district title game at Dayton High School.
