Countywide cleanup scheduled

PULLMAN – Garbage rates at the Whitman County Landfill, 252 Landfill Road, is $55 per ton during cleanup week of April 8-16.

The county set limitations on what is accepted at the landfill and transfer stations. Commercial and business haulers are not being accepted. The rate during the week is for residential waste only.

Some services are offered all year for free.

The landfill accepts old appliances, scrap, metal, used oil and engine fluids, household cleaners, fertilizers, yard trimmings, and recyclables. Glass, plastic, aluminum, newspapers and cardboard are recyclables.
