Serving Whitman County since 1877
COLFAX – Brett Myers announced his re-election bid for a sixth term as Whitman County Sheriff.
“It has been my privilege to serve as the sheriff of this great county for the past 20 years. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of the next four years,” Myers stated.
Myers began serving the county in 2003.
Eight county officials face re-election this year. The positions of county assessor, auditor, clerk, coroner, Dist. 3 commissioner, prosecuting attorney, sheriff, and treasurer are part of the general election.
Candidates can file for election from May 16 to May 20. The primary election is Aug. 2 and the general election is Nov. 8.
Myers said his office succeeds by providing policing with integrity, community involvement, and being service orientated.
“Excellence is not an accident. It’s our focus and has become a habit we live by,” said Myers.
Active patrolling, local involvement, and empowered employees are components to solving crimes and “ensuring those who break the law and victimize others are held accountable,” said Myers.
His focus is to keep making Whitman County a great place to live, work and raise a family. Myers believes his office’s mission and purpose are clear.
“As long as I am sheriff, our focus will be to keep Whitman County the kind of place where people feel safe, their rights are protected, and they are proud to call Whitman County their home,” Myers said.
