County teams face loser-out contests

Tekoa-Rosalia, Oakesdale looking for regional berth

DAYTON - The No. 1 seeded Oakesdale Nighthawks and No. 2 seeded Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves must win or go home in basketball games this week.

In a loser-out contest, Oakesdale was scheduled to play Liberty Christian at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Across the consolation bracket, Tekoa-Rosalia was scheduled to play Yakama Nation at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday.

The back-to-back games are set for Dayton High School, 615 S. Third St., Dayton.

The winners will face each other and the losers will be eliminated.

The final game in the consolation round will take place at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Dayton High School.

The winner will earn a regionals berth, and a chance to play for the No. 2 spot against the loser of the Sunnyside Christian vs. DeSales game, which is set for 6:45 p.m., Friday. The winner of the DeSales-Sunnyside Christian wins the District 9 champion.
