Tekoa Trestle opens for use

TEKOA – The Tekoa Trestle opened March 31 for use by hikers, cyclists and horse riders.

The trestle is part of the John Wayne Trail, now called Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail.

The trail uses the former Milwaukee Road Railroad.

The 250-mile route meanders through 5,794-acres of scenery from near North Bend through the Cascades to the Idaho border east of Tekoa.

The state has plans to continue improvements along a 9-mile segment from Malden to Rosalia....
