Bryson pole vaults into fourth

Colfax girls track team faces faster teams in Cheney

CHENEY – A Colfax pole vaulter finished fourth Saturday, April 16, Van Kuren Invitational track meet.

Senior Emma Brysonposted the highest place for any Bulldog competitors, clearing the bar at 8 feet, and tying for fourth in girls pole vault with Mikah Baggot of Central Valley.

Bryson scored all four of Colfax’s team points.

Central Valley won the girls team title with 64 points, followed in second by East Valley (Spokane Valley) with 58 and Cheney third with 52.

St. George’s and Odessa tied for fourth with 46 points; both are Class 1B schools.

Colfax girls finished 27th as a team.

In the girls 100 meter, freshman Adisyn Ring finished 41st overall for Colfax with a time of 15.13 seconds.

Sophomore teammate Charlotte McCulloh was 63rd in 17.38.

In the 200 meter, Bryson was 30th overall in 30.68.

Senior Anna Cocking paced the Bulldogs in the 1,600 meter, finishing 42nd in 6:45.02. Senior Hannah Baerlocher was 46th in 7:04.00.

Cocking also led the way for the local girls in the 3,200 meter, finishing 24th in 14:05.73.

Right behind her was Gabriella Rabaiotti, 25th, with a time of 14:08.11.

In the girls 100-meter high hurdles, sophomore Destiny Nelson was 21st in a time of 19.63.

Bryson was 40th in 22.58.

For the 300-meter low hurdles, junior Jaisa Gibb was 24th in 56.79. Ring finished 32nd in 1:00.20.

The girls 4X100 meter relay team finished 12th for the Bulldogs, with a time of 57.12 seconds. The team included Paige Claasen, McCulloh, Gibb and Nelson.

The same girls also finished 12th in the 4x200 in a time of 2:05.37.

In field events, senior Kendall Gosney was 45 in shot put with a toss of 22-10.

Freshman Dory Doty was 55th with 21-01.

In javelin, Doty throw 78 feet for a 26th place finish as junior Danielle Getz hit 66 feet, for 49th place.

In the long jump, Nelson finished 17th with a leap of 13-07.25.
