Kitten Shower benefits cat care

MOSCOW – The Kitten Shower is coming.

The Humane Society of the Palouse is hosting its annual Kitten Shower supply drive from 1-4 p.m. May 15 at 1912 Center Great Room, 412 E. Third St.

The event functions like a baby shower with an emphasis on donating supplies used when providing care for orphaned kittens, Humane Society of the Palouse spokeswoman Lauren Green said.

"The Kitten Shower is a great opportunity to support local animals in need while learning about all of the work that goes into raising them," Green said. "With the support of our community, we can gather enough supplies to care for the more than 200 kittens we expect to take in during kitten season this year."

The event features games, educational materials, coloring pages, and real kittens from the shelter. People can watch kittens be bottle-fed and have a chance to snuggle a few older kittens.

Admission is by donation.
