Swerving car report ends safely

COLFAX – A 9-1-1 call reported a car swerving across the centerline and onto the shoulder of the Walla Walla Highway.

A deputy found the car not too far from Colfax on April 18 and spoke with the driver, according to a Whitman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

The driver almost went into a ditch and admitted to the deputy he had a hard time steering the car because the tie rod was broken.

The driver parked the car and called to have it towed.

No ticket was issued.
