ROSALIA - Rosalia Garden Club members planted a Japanese maple tree April 20 in observance of Arbor Day with the help of Jake Billington and city maintenance staff.
The tree was planted in Rosalia Mini-Park to commemorate the club's 75th anniversary.
Washington recognizes Arbor Day the second Wednesday of April, while the U.S. recognizes it the last Friday of April.
From 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, the club is inviting children of the area to help plant sunflowers in the Children's Garden.
"Our celebration doesn't stop there," club spokeswoman MarvaLee Peterschick said. "On May 4, we'll continue with a luncheon and speakers."
