Commissioners approve vehicle purchase

Money to come from ER&R fund, officials say

COLFAX — Whitman County commissioners discussed purchasing a new vehicle during their meeting Monday, May 23.

Brandon Kruger, Maintenance Operations manager, presented the vehicle purchase plan using Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund moneys.

“Basically, emergency communication would like to put a new vehicle in ER&R,” Kruger said.

Kruger reported that emergency communications had already purchased a vehicle to replace an older one.

He further noted that a buyer would like to purchase the current rig.

Commissioners approved the purchase and will contact auditors when it goes through.

“It [the vehicle] basically becomes a property of ER&R,” Public Works Director Mark Storey said. “ER&R will have it as one of their assests. If you decide to get rid of it, there will obviously be a rebate. When you put something in ER&R you have to buy in and match the payments to cover expenses.”
