On Friday night, there was a mini LaCrosse Class of 1979 reunion in Ritzville.

The group attended the Ritzville All-School Reunion to support Jay Humphrey who was performing that night with his band.

Humphrey had been a classmate of theirs in LaCrosse until the fifth grade. Those attending included Kirk Fleming, Sheri Shaffer Hatley, Julie Cain, Paula Morris Meyer and Doreen Broeckel Riedner. It was Paula’s reunion as well since she graduated from Ritzville High School.

Karen Broeckel, Dusty, and Patty Wieber, Spokane, rode with Judy and Jerry Carlson, Moses Lake, to Tacoma Saturday to see Alvin Broeckel who is a patient in Tacoma General Hospital. They were also able to see two of Al’s children, JoAnn Elrod, Bellvue, and John Broeckel, Jacksonville, Oregon. His third child, Janet Trantolo of South Hampton, New York, was due to arrive Tuesday night. Carlsons and Wieber returned to their respective homes Sunday. Broeckel stayed one night with her sister and drove back to Dusty on Monday.
