Stanley Jay Duncan, Sr., 77, of Endicott, Wash. passed away August 11, 2022 at Whitman Medical Center in Colfax, Wash. Stanley was born February 13, 1945 in Denver, Colorado to Gus & Katherine (Steele) Duncan. He grew up in Colorado and following high school graduation enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Germany and it was there that Stanley met the love of his life Victoria Eckert. They were married in the Switzerland LDS Temple and upon his honorable discharge returned to Colorado. Together they raised their six children. He went to work in the hard rock mines, until deciding to go into Respiratory Therapy. Stanley received his associate degree at American River College in Sacramento, California following which the family moved to Carson City, Nevada where he began his career as a Respiratory Therapist. In 1985 the family moved to Whitman County, settling in Endicott, Wash. as he began his career at Whitman Medical Center. Stanley served the community as a Respiratory Therapist until his retirement. He was a loving father who enjoyed time spent with his family. He had a vast interest in genealogy, loved sailing ships and was a passionate historian. He loved to travel by car spending time in state and national parks. He loved to drive and never used a map. He is survived by his children Molly Ng (Eddy); Stanley J. Duncan, Jr. (Renae); Laddiego (Debbie) Duncan; Sriah Kapoor (Robit); Waylon (Rachael) Duncan; Wydell (Mehre) Duncan; 17 grandchildren and his former wife Victoria Akre. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Colfax Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the church. Burial will take place at the Endicott Cemetery, Endicott, Wash. Corbeill Funeral Home of Colfax, Wash. has been entrusted with arrangements.
