8:59 p.m. - Scharpenberg Road and State Route 26; LaCrosse. Deputy responded to a disabled semi. The Deputy provided traffic control until the semi could be moved.

8:49 a.m. - 60304 State Route 195; Rosalia. Deputy responded to a theft report. The deputy assisted with an exchanging of items and provided a courtesy transport.
1:38 p.m. - North Ramsey Street, Tekoa. Deputy responded to a theft report.
4:29 p.m. - North Gross Ave; Uniontown. Deputy and the Fire Department responded to a stray dog trapped in a well. The dog was safely removed. .

9:20 p.m. - East Copper Street, Colfax. Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.

County Jail
Kagan Lee Lamay, 34, booked August 13, for burglary 2nd degree, 2 counts of theft of means of transport, burglary 3rd degree.
Keenen Lan McClanahan Keller, 28, booked August 14, for probation violation, held without bail.
District Court
Colfax – Whitman County District Court reported the following criminal conviction sentences from Aug. 11-??
Aug. 11
Robyn A. Walters, 26, reckless endangerment. Sentenced to 364 days in jail, 331 suspended. Fine waived. Defendant must serve 14 months supervised probation and attend a gun safety course. Walters also agreed to the forfeiture of a Beretta handgun, two magazines, a holster and ammunition seized as evidence. Defendant must also obey a no-contact order for Kailey McKeever, 21, her fiancé Andrew Hamilton and two minor children.
Kawthar Ali, third-degree theft. Defendant sentenced to 30 days of jail, 29 suspended. Fine, criminal conviction fee, probation fee and public defender recoupment waived. Defendant may not violation the law and is ordered to serve six months supervised probation. Probation may terminated and deferred sentence granted if defendant completes all terms of the order and the need arises for purposes of application to graduate school.
Vicki F. Rapp, third-degree theft. Deferred sentence for 12 months. Defendant sentenced to 30 days, 29 suspended. Fine, criminal conviction and probation fees waived. Defendant may not violate the law and must serve supervised probation for 12 months; the last six months may be converted to unsupervised.
Victor Alexander Rangel, third-degree driving while license suspended. Sentenced to 30 days in jail, 30 suspended. Fined $500, with $500 suspended. Defendant must pay a $43 criminal conviction fee and may not drive a motor vehicle without a valid license and proof of insurance. Defendant sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation. Probation will end when all obligations are completed.
Jack Mitchell Jacobson, charged amended down from driving while undr the influence to first-degree negligent driving. Sentenced to 90 days in jail, 89 days suspended. Fined $1,000, $500 suspended. Defendant also must pay a $43 criminal conviction fee and a $600 supervised probation fee. Defendant may violate the law and served 24 months supervised probation, the last 12 months of which can be unsupervised if all other requirements of the order are met. Defendant must get an expanded alcohol assessment, attend a DUI victim impact panel, not possess or use any drugs, alcohol or marijuana and submit to random drug/alcohol testing.
Patrick Black, deferred prosecution from 2016 revoked. Defendant was charged with a DUI on March 23, 2021, in Spokane County, and convicted on June 2, 2022. Defendant found guilty of driving while under the influence in 2016 and sentenced to 364 days in jail, with 364 waived. Fine, criminal conviction fee, public defender recoupment and supervised probation fee waived. Defendant sentenced to 60 months of unsupervised probation. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assessment, attend a DUI victim impact panel and refrain from using or possession non-prescription/illegal drugs, alcohol and marijuana. Defendant is prohibited from going into alcohol-based businesses and is required to submit to random drug and alcohol testing. Defendant’s drivers license is suspend for three years. The court finds imposition of jail time would impose a substantial risk to the defendant’s physical or mental well-being, and due to the finding, the court suspends the 90-day minimum jail sentence.
Damien Johnson, disorderly conduct. Sentenced to 30 days in jail, 29 suspended. the fine, criminal conviction fee, probation monitoring fee and public defender recoupment were all waived. Defendant shall not violate the law and will serve 12 months supervised probation, converted to unsupervised as soon as all sentencing requirements are completed. Court reserved the imposition of the requirement for alcohol/drug evaluation at this time. Defendant must meet with probation to discuss and develop a plan to ensure issues are addressed and the defendant has stability. Probation will consider factors include, but not limited to defendant’s chosen area of residents, short- and long-term.
