HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

RITZVILLE – The Colfax Bulldogs were unable to overcome the size and speed of the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos, falling 35-12 in the season opener in Ritzville.

The Bulldogs were able to push to within two scores of the Broncos, down 28-12 in the second quarter, but were unable to score for the rest of the game. LRS scored the last touchdown of the third quarter to go up 35-12, in what ended up being the final score.

Quarterback JJ Bodey scored both touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Potlatch 90, Colton/Genesee 40

The Genesee/Colton Bulldogs fell to the Potlatch Logges in an Idaho Whitepine League football contest 90-40.

The Bulldogs were able to keep the contest close through the first quarter, only down 22-20, before the Loggers scored 68 combined points in the final three quarters to put the stamp on the blowout. Nolan Bartosz caught three of Colton/Genesee's six total touchdowns in the game.

Garfield-Palouse match canceled

The Vikings scheduled match against Reardan in Palouse has been canceled. They will next play Logos High School at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 in Moscow.
